Welcome to Chabad Hebrew School! We believe that the Hebrew School experience should be fun, inspiring, and provide warm memories for a lifetime. Your child should gain a basic understanding of Jewish life and traditions and a grasp of reading the Hebrew language. Most important, we hope to instill in your child a love of Judaism and of Israel, a pride in being Jewish, and a commitment to a Jewish life. Our program is founded on the principle that, while Jews embrace many levels of observance in their personal lives, there should be a place for all Jews to develop a sense of community and engage in activities which will enhance their Jewish experience. In addition to hearing about the Jewish traditions, holidays and heritage, it also made them feel a part of the community and being proud of who they are. They had the opportunity to practice the Hebrew language both reading and writing, which enabled them to preserve the language after barely using it in the past year.
Blumie makes all of this happen with lots of passion and energy, and presents the kids with an easy access to the Jewish topics, providing very positive Jewish experiences, combined with games and crafts which the kids love. The children bring this home and parents and siblings often join the Jewish experience, too.
We will definitely be attending Hebrew school next year, in fact my kids are already asking me when is it starting…

It has been such a pleasure to see our son enjoy learning to read and write Hebrew through Chabad of Nanaimo. The material is laid out in such a fun and creative way that he’s always looking forward to going to his next class. From reading to learning to crafting to cooking to so much more; Hebrew School through Chabad of Nanaimo goes above and beyond and we are so thrilled to be a part of it.
